Peony Jade's New Heavenly Kings, New Fruity Flavors and Timeless Signatures mooncakes

Peony Jade’s unmistakable perfume of its freshly made, lovingly handcrafted award-winning mooncakes is once again in the air.  To celebrate the abundance and togetherness of the mid-autumn festival, the brand’s culinary team is proud to present the 4 new heavenly kings with one new creation under each of the four cornerstone categories (baked, flaky-Teochew, durian snow skin and limited edition snow skin), 5 new fruity flavours and its popular signatures in the traditional baked and flaky-Teochew ranges.

The Four New Heavenly Kings

The limited edition farmed pesticide-free posh Mao Shan Wang durian in organic pandan snow skin, the exotic century egg with pickled ginger embedded in low sugar white lotus paste mini flaky-Teochew mooncake, the luscious egg custard traditional baked mini mooncake, and the new-to-market New Zealand golden kiwi mini snow skin with a strawberry centre, are made with superb craftsmanship and are produced fresh daily with no artificial flavourings, stabilizers, colouring essence, or preservatives, a true sign of Peony Jade’s uncompromising commitment to quality and excellence.

Making its majestic debut this year is the PREMIUM POSH (farmed pesticide-free) “A” GRADE PURE Mao Shan Wang Durian Mooncake in Organic Pandan Snow Skin, 100% ($60 nett for 2 pieces and $102 nett for 4 pieces).  This limited edition creation (only 500 boxes are available) uses only pesticide-free 100% premium Cat Mountain King durian pulp from Pahang.  It's pungent and unusually bitter composition is enrobed in a duvet of chewy and soft green organic pandan snow skin made with organic pandan juice.
For its army of loyal fans who span several generations, the Cantonese cuisine “royalty” – century eggs – have transformed into this season’s must-try in the glorious form of the exotic Mini Century Eggs Pastry Mooncakes($62 nett for 8 pieces). This not-for-the-faint-hearted delicacy pairs the pungent preserved egg, slices of pickled ginger embedded in low sugar pure white lotus paste with a light and flaky pastry skin.
Another “royalty” from the age-old cuisine is the undeniably buttery-sweet egg custard that rules almost every dim sum feast.  Peony Jade’s Baked Mini Egg Custard Mooncakes,($62 nett for 8 pieces), impresses with the contrasting yet complementary sweet and savoury notes of its briny scented salted egg yolk enriched with butter, eggs, evaporated milk, and flour, resulting in a perfectly balanced morsel that simply melts in the mouth.

The fourth new taste is the golden kiwi that is also known as the king of fruits in New Zealand.  This new-to-market creation uses premium fresh golden yellow kiwis that appeal to the exotic fruit lovers who adore this zesty super fruit for its high Vitamin C content with antioxidant compounds and low glycemic index, among other health properties.  Peony Jade’s Snowskin Golden Kiwi Fruit with StrawberryCentre Mooncake ($62 nett for 8 pieces) is blended into a pulp with its natural sugar sweetness.

The Five New Fruity Flavours

Left to right:  Honey Mango-Philadelphia Cheese, Chestnut-Salted Caramel, Japan Kyoho Grapes, and PeachPassionfruit-Chocolate with Champagne Mousse centre
The 4 Little Heavenly Kings Premium Fruitti Mini Snowskin ($76 nett for 8 pieces) range boasts these 3 newcomers.

The first unique and refreshing contender is the Japan Kyoho Grapes.
Primarily grown in Yamanashi and Nagano prefectures and harvested twice a year in August and September, they are graded carefully for color, size and imperfections.  Peony Jade spares no expense at using only top-drawer ingredients and this is no exception.  Savour this rare seasonal snowskin as the subtly   sweet and tarty, meaty pulp offers a new way of appreciating these prized gifts from nature.
The second fruit-inspired creation is the Peach-Passionfruit-Chocolate with Champagne Mousse centre. The beguiling sweet and sour velvety yellow peaches from the United States of America are contrasted with the tangy Russian passionfruit and is elevated with the natural sweetness of dark chocolate, and the champagne (12.5% content) centre adds an alcoholic kick!

Peach-Passionfruit-Chocolate with Champagne Moussecentre, and 100% Pure Premium Durian Snowskin Combo (Clockwise from top left): D100, Black Gold, Grade “A” Sultan D24, & Jin Feng or Golden Phoenix

Also vying for your attention is the Chestnut-Salted Caramel.
The robust taste of the crunchy roasted chestnuts within the fine presence of the salted caramel satisfy on many unexpected levels and bind the flavours to make this an irresistible treat for adults and children alike.

Always hogging the headlines are Peony Jade’s durian mooncakes.  This year is different, the must-buy collection, 100% PURE PREMIUM Durian Snowskin Combo, captures some of the best durian wonders namely D100, a new hybrid that is distinguished by its slightly grey tones in its yellow flesh, another exclusive new hybrid Black Gold durian that is distinguished by its very creamy, pungent and strong bitter aftertaste with a tinge of sweetness (also a limited edition creation with only 500 boxes available), the buttery and creamy Jin Feng or Golden Phoenix, and the ever popular Grade “A” Sultan D24 Durians ($85 nett per box).
